WIGS has instituted a Fellowship to outstanding people who have made significant contribution to gender development, women and child right initiatives.
ABOUT THE WIGS FELLOWS PROGRAM
The WIGS fellows program was established to highlight academic inventors, gender development and sustainable community impact who have demonstrated prolific spirit of innovation, societal development and government policies that have made tangible impact on quality of life, gender development and child right imitative and thereby putting Nigeria on the map. Nomination for WIGS Fellow is the highest career distinction accorded solely to outstanding professionals, gender experts and academicians.
The program has 100Fellows worldwide representing universities, government institutions and NGOs.
THE WIGS FELLOWSHIP AWARDS PROGRAMME
A fellow is a registered member of the WIGS Institute in accordance with the WIGS rules and regulations and meets the requirements as prescribed b the Governing Council and pursuant to an invitation by the council to be admitted as a fellow. The WIGS fellows are recognized with the WIGS highest membership honor for their exceptional work and contributions to Gender Development and Society in general. Individuals who have made such significant contributions to societal development are conferred this prestigious honorary status and can use the designation FWIGS in every correspondence attached to their names and titles.
The program has 100Fellows worldwide representing universities, government institutions and NGOs.
ELIGIBILITY/CRITERIA
Nominees should have made outstanding contributions to gender development and child right.
Demonstrated leadership in their profession as evidenced by their responsibilities in employment, business or public practice
and by contribution(s) made to the Institute or other similar gender development programmes and to the society at large.
Should have reached professional maturity and be recognized by peers in their field.

FELLOW EVALUATION CRITERIA
Education, Research, Literature or practice(with option of subcategory of management or innovative advancement)
Fellowship in this category is granted to nominees who have made notable contributions through their work in education, gender development, governance and service to society. Work in education maybe teaching, research, administration or writing and should have lasting impact, be widely recognized and provide inspiration to others in the field and their profession.
Research areas may include new material applications, inventions, standards e.t.c
Practice includes firm management, administration, and project management or specialty areas( impactful projects).
Service to the Institute
Nominee provides service through roles such as resource person, facilitation, contributor or editorial board member of WIGS journals and other service opportunities.
Career Tenure: Nominee is recognized as an innovator and demonstrated exemplary contributions in her field as evidenced by academic or commendation appointment, national/international awards, recognition, invited talks, consultations among others.
Facilitation u0026amp; Mentoring: Nominee has aided in the development and promotion of an institutional culture that provides opportunities for technology, gender development and child right advocacy and encourages success at either institutional, inter-institutional, or governmental level as well as provided mentorship in training the next generation of leaders in gender innovative leaders.
INDUCTION CEREMONY
An induction ceremony for new inducted fellows will be held at the end of the WIGS annual leadership induction seminar each year. New fellows and their guests are cordially invited to attend the TLA awards(at the special member rate). At the ceremony, the new fellows will receive their medals, Rosette, WIGS lapel pin, Plaques and member certificate.
